Interlift 2023 has shown that it has returned to the level of the previous era of Corona. Almost 19,000 top-level elevator experts from more than 110 countries were in Augsburg, Germany to learn about news and trends in the sector. And their assessment was positive, as was that of the more than 500 exhibitors.
The general directors of AFAG, the Fair Organizer, Henning and Thilo Könicke also concluded that: “Interlift 2023 was a great success. We are very happy with the high level of satisfaction of exhibitors and visitors, who were able to close good deals.
“There is already a great expectation for Interlift 2025. This is reflected, among other things, in the high rate of rebookings, even while Interlift 2023 is still underway.”
THE BEST NOTES FROM INTERLIFT VISITORS
The assessment of the world’s leading trade fair by international trade visitors was positive in all respects: 93% of the visitors surveyed rated the range of products and services of the exhibitors from “very good” to “satisfactory”, and the 93% would recommend the Interlift fair to others; 92% intend to visit again.
These evaluations are particularly valuable because they were carried out by competent industry experts: 67% of respondents participate decisively or co-decisively in procurement decisions, and another 18% of visitors participate in investments at least in an advisory capacity. Forty six per cent of the visitors surveyed come to prepare or ensure an investment, and 28% have already closed agreements in the fair. Last but not least: 55% of Interlift visitors come exclusively to the fair to find out about the latest news in the sector of the elevators and not to any other fair in the sector.
CONFIDENCE DESPITE THE COLLAPSE OF THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR
Because of the crisis that has been occurring for some time in the construction sector in Western Europe and in China, assessments on the future development of the sector are cautious:
Fifty eight percent of visitors surveyed expect an increase in development in the coming years when in 2022 it was still 67 percent. Just under a third part, expect a stable level. Fourteen percent even expect a weakening of the development of the elevators.
Achim Hütter, President of VFA-Interlift e.V., held numerous meetings during the four days of Interlift: “Despite the decline in new housing construction, Interlift 2023 was a great trade fair. We were able to have excellent technical discussions and the visitor numbers were excellent. Many exhibitors told me that Interlift 2023 was the best fair they had ever been”.
POSITIVE COMMENTS FROM INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITORS
The good number of visitors and their high quality guarantee a positive balance of exhibitors for Interlift 2023: Thus, 90% generally obtained good marks for their participation. Expectations for post-fair business are also high: 90% speak of “very good”, “good” or “satisfactory” expectations. It is not surprising; therefore, that 90% already say that they will participate in Interlift 2025; only 1% do not plan to do so now.
BOOKING CHANGE: GREAT INTEREST IN INTERLIFT 2025 IN NÜREMBERG
More than 120 Interlift exhibitors have already registered for the next edition in Nuremberg, while Interlift is still in operation. These already represent a third of the total surface. Among these exhibitors are important companies such as Cobianchi, Kollmorgen, Lift Equip, Meiler, MP Lift, New Lift, Orona, Prudhomme, Serapid, TÜV Süd, and the Italian association ANICA. The collective stands of Italy, India, and China have also already committed to 2025 and, in some cases, have announced an increase in exhibition space.
THE INDUSTRY LOOKS FORWARD TO 2025
Interlift will be held for the first time in Nuremberg in 2025, from October 14 to 17. This means that the world’s leading trade fair for the elevator industry will have a new location starting from the next event.
