In July, the elevator company started commercializing an exclusive product for the elevators sanitizing.
As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, and having to deal with it, ASCENSORES CÓNDOR used the experience of engineers and environmental specialists who work with UV-C technology, internationally employed since the 1980’s for the elimination of microorganisms, bacteria and viruses. In this way the firm based in Buenos Aires, began in July to market a Sanitizing Panel specially manufactured for elevators disinfection.
For the first month after it was launched, ASCENSORES CÓNDOR offered customers and people interested on the product, 25 % discount. The purchase of the product includes the corresponding technical advice, for a correct and effective operation of the equipment.
After several tests and trials, the UV-C Technology was conditioned for implementation in elevator cars, taking into account environmental and occupational conditions such as, irradiance, power, and incidence of lightning on the surface to be decontaminated and the angle, volume and area related to the activity.
Thanks to the professionals involved in the project, ASCENSORES CONDOR was able to meet the current need to face the new coronavirus pandemic.
As safety measures, the equipment has a light indicator that is on during disinfection. In addition, it has sensors that stop the radiation if there is any movement inside the car. This double safety measure tries to avoid exposure to ultraviolet rays, since you should not enter the car during disinfection, or look directly at the lit tubes or be close to UVC light. Also, some people use eyes protection glasses for UVC light, thus taking extreme care.
Why UV-C light?
Artificially produced UV-C light has been used for decades as a germicide and bactericide. It has the effectiveness of eliminating microorganisms, bacteria, viruses and other pathogens, or preventing their development, since it destroys their genetic material, thus preventing replication.
The effectiveness of eliminating microorganisms depends on the dose received, which is given according to the intensity of radiation and the contact time.
The UVC doses necessary to ensure 99% inactivation depend on the type of microorganism, values that are already tabulated for most pathogens.
