On May 17, a meeting was held at the CAFAC headquarters in which members of the aforementioned entity and also from ITEEA, FACARA and ADIMRA got together to welcome senior executives from prestigious German certifier TÜV Rheinland.
For a few years, TÜV and the Chamber have been working on the implementation of a legal certification scheme that improves the quality of vertical transport components, materials and equipment, with the aim of optimizing user safety and giving transparency to the sector.

Right now, the national resolution 897/99 is being considered and revised in order to achieving the elevator installation certificate.
Chamber was interested in taking advantage of the technical experience of Eng. Manuel Díez, a Spanish visitor in our country, who is globally leading the operations of TUV Rheinland in the field of elevator inspection in more than 56 countries with 500 offices. That reason led them to offer their facilities for the event. The content of the talk dissertation was defined jointly, considering the current needs of the sector.
The agenda covered the following items:
1- Certification schemes and inspection of lifts implemented worldwide (component certification, complete lift and commissioning and periodic inspection).
2- New trends in elevator technology in the world.
3- Accident analysis.
On behalf of TÜV were present -in addition to Eng. Díez- Eng. Rodrigo Bochicchio, business manager of elevator equipment for TÜV of Argentina and Eng. Mauricio Shamber, manager of industrial services of TÜV for Argentina. They also were present Eng. Gerardo Venútolo, president of CAFAC and Eng. Santiago Tentori for ITEEA, authorities from the Ministry of Industry and also participated manufacturers and businessmen from elevator maintenance companies.
Since 2017 TÜV Rheinland provides, at the national level, service of periodic inspection and commissioning of elevators under accreditation of the Argentine Accreditation Body in the voluntary field. Their main clients are corporate buildings, universities, hospitals, shopping centers, among others.
TÜV’s plans are to continue supporting the sector by providing inspection services accredited in the country and backed worldwide by TÜV being a leading elevator inspection company.
TÜV Rheinland provides the inspection service of elevators and escalators in all its offices worldwide. In South America it has local offices in Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Bolivia. Currently it has recognitions and accreditations in all countries to provide the aforementioned service. TÜV Rheinland has been present in Argentina since 1994 with offices in the provinces of Córdoba, Neuquén, Comodoro Rivadavia and its headquarters in Buenos Aires. They provide certifications of management systems, electrical products, toys, aluminum steels, among others; and of a wide variety of services for the industry such as building inspection, lifting equipment, among others.
